Caught in the Crossfire: Mother of Two Killed
Residents in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia say gunfire erupted like a war zone Friday afternoon. Neighbors say Clarise Douglas, a 45-year-old mother of two, was innocently shot and killed as two men ran down Corlies Street shooting at one another. Crime scene investigators took a still loaded semi-automatic handgun into evidence, it was found in an alleyway trashcan where police say one shooter took off running. Authorities say one of the two assailants, a 22-year-old male, is hospitalized in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his arm. Police have not been able to interview him. The second shooter remains on the run and police say he may also be injured.
