Striking Verizon Workers Go to CEO's NJ Home

Verizon workers from Virginia to Massachusetts will be protesting outside the CEO's home Thursday

Verizon workers will take their strike to their CEO's New Jersey home Thursday.

Members of the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers plan to stage a candlelight vigil outside Lowell McAdam's residence in Mendham.

About 45,000 Verizon workers from Massachusetts to Virginia walked off the job Aug. 7.

The unions are fighting the company's call for a pension freeze and for contributions to health insurance premiums, among other demands.

McAdam has said the company must react to “a 10-year decline” in customer base and profitability in the landline market from wireless service and other devices.

The company has obtained court injunctions in four states to limit picketing.
