Police Catch “Maniac” Accused of Raping 10-Year-Old

A man who goes by the street name "Maniac" was caught by Bensalem police Tuesday night, hours after he allegedly raped a 10-year-old.

Jermaine Jackson, 37, is accused of sexually assaulting the child inside the Creekside Apartments on Knights Road earlier that day.

After the alleged assault, Jackson locked the victim and a witness in the bedroom and ripped the phone cord out of the receiver so they couldn't call for help, according to Bensalem police.

The victim and witness somehow freed themselves, ran outside and flagged down a Bucks County Sheriff's officer who was driving by at the time.

Early Wednesday morning, police captured Jackson in a wooded area between the Yezzi Baseball Field on Hulmeville Road and the Franklin Mills Mall.
