2 Delaware Men Charged with Stealing Scrap Metal from Police Barracks Construction Site

Delaware State Police have charged two brothers with stealing building materials from the construction site of a new barracks near Magnolia.

Troopers say employees of the construction company reported theft of materials from the site of the new Troop 3 barracks early Thursday. Cast iron piping, rebar and galvanized steel plates worth more than $5,000 were reported stolen.

Later Thursday a scrap yard in Dover reported to police that two men had tried to sell a large piece cast iron piping for scrap. Troopers obtained the men's contact information and arrested them. Police say much of the stolen material was recovered.

Thirty-two-year-old Bruce A. Logan of Dover and 34-year-old Carlton R. Logan of Frederica have been charged with theft, selling stolen property and other offenses.
