That Girl: Kaitlyn Fernandez

This week's That Girl Profile is Kaitlyn Fernandez.

This week's Profile is Kaitlyn Fernandez of Philadelphia. Philly Fashion guru Catriona Whitehead tells us why Kaitlyn is this week's That Girl.

What I like about this look.

These pants! For many, this color combination and large pattern would send them running—but not her. This young lady has embraced the boldness, and in the best way possible. Realizing the strong impression these crop pants will make, she made the rest of her ensemble a neutral canvas—cream colored top and trench, brown blazer and flats. There are no other patterns or bright colors to contend with this statement piece, which allows the viewer and the wearer to appreciate the pants without feeling overwhelmed.

Where could this outfit be worn?

This ensemble is good for work (depending on your employer), hanging with friends, going out to eat (day or night), shopping, etc. I would say any dressy casual activity.

Where can you buy this particular look?

Bold crop pants can now be found at JCrew, L.A.M.B. (Zappos.com), Lilly Pulitzer, Neiman Marcus, and ShopStyle.com.A basic brown blazer is best found at Express, H & M, JCrew, Polyvore.com, and ShopStyle.com.A sweet knit top like this can be found at Beso.com, JCrew, JCPenney, LOFT, Nordstom, and Urban Outfitters.

Style tip?

I want to see this ensemble with a nice nude or brown heel. As I have mentioned a trillion times before, the heel will give her back the height the crop pant has taken away, and it will provide an extra ounce of chic to the overall look. Since its getting much warmer out, you can also use a cream or light pink colored blazer. Ann Taylor has a lovely one.
