Celebrate the summer season with the Philadelphia Zoo as it hosts the Summer Ale Festival July 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The zoo partnered up with Rolling Barrel Events in order to put on this outdoor beer and food tasting event. It features delicious local summer ales, and sustainable food from area restaurants in the zoo’s gardens.

The brewers include Sly Fox, Yards, Flying Fish, Victory, Triumph, Philadelphia Brewing and Nodding Head. Among the participating restaurants are London Grill, Bar Ferdinand, City Tavern and Whisk & Spoon.

In addition to the beer and bites, party-goers will be able to compare and discuss beers with the brewers while they imbibe. There will be a lineup of educational seminars prepared by Rolling Barrel with the local craft brewers.

Tickets start at $20 per person for anyone 21 or older. Fifty dollar general admission tickets include a souvenir pilsner tasting mug and the $75 VIP tickets includes a private educational seminar with an exclusive brewer, the pilsner tasting glass and a goodie bag.
