A woman charged with having aided her husband in a slaying at a remote southwestern Pennsylvania hunting cabin has been sentenced to life in prison.
The Washington Observer-Reporter reports that jurors on Friday found 41-year-old Lana Roe of Daisytown guilty of first-degree murder in the August 2012 shotgun slaying of 38-year-old Cordele Patterson, of Grindstone.
Prosecutors say Roe acted as an accomplice for her husband Jason Roe, who was convicted last fall of first-degree murder. They told jurors that Lana Roe lured Patterson outside the cabin before he was shot by her husband.
Patterson's mother, Vivian O'Neal Russ, smiled and cried as the verdict was read.
Roe did not visibly react at the verdict.
