Angry residents take matters into their own hands

The latest incident happened early Wednesday morning on Van Kirk Street.  Police say someone damaged 17 cars by spraying them with an acid or chemical wash.

Yolande Tyler is not happy. ““This is my third time getting hit.  it's my third time getting  hit.  The first time was March of 2011” she told NBC10.

Tyler decided to fight back and set up a surveillance camera outside her house. It shows some of the block that was hit Wednesday.  Police are examining the video, hoping it leads them to the vandal or vandals.

"It's a matter of, you know, what they were able to catch, where they're pointed at, uh, and you know,  how clear the video is, actually" says Captain Michael McCarrick.

Just this week, police arrested 21-year old Quincy Kramer for some of the tire slashings in another part of Northeast Philadelphia.  But investigators believe there are other vandals out there.

Tyler issued this warning.  "If they catch the person, they might as well bring the coroner, not, not the cops."
