Delaware State Police say a trooper was injured in a crash after a shoplifting incident at a Glasgow home improvement store.

The News Journal reports that a security guard spotted a group of men running from the Home Depot in Peoples Plaza with shopping carts Sunday night around 7:30 and driving off in a rental U-Haul van.

The fleeing van later crashed with a trooper's cruiser on Interstate 95.

Police spokesman Cpl. John Day says four suspects were captured nearby, but one remained at large. Day says the injured trooper and some of the suspects were taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

As of Monday morning the trooper and two suspects were treated and released while two other suspects remained hospitalized.

The incident restricted traffic on I-95 for hours but all lanes have reopened.
