Gunman Shoots, Kills Man on Bike Then Drives Off

A shooting left a man riding his bicycle dead and his loved ones distraught.

Philadelphia Police officers rushed to Berks Street near Georges Lane in the city’s Wynnefield neighborhood late Tuesday night after multiple calls about gunfire in the area.

“They found a male – it appears to be a male in his early 20s. He was shot at least one time in his head,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The man was still straddling his bike on the sidewalk when medics pronounced him dead shortly after midnight, said Small.

The shooter fired at least three, shots, said investigators. He then got into a dark-colored car with two other guys inside and drove off along Georges Lane.

As cameras rolled following the shooting, people could be seen distraught at the scene -- one screaming woman needed to be carried away after collapsing on the ground.
