Deadbeat parents in the area weren’t feeling the love the Friday before Valentine's Day as the 18th annual Operation Deadbeat Sweep netted dozens who are behind in child support.
Forty-two people, including alleged criminals and moms and dads, were taken into custody by The Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office on Friday as a result of the 2015 roundup.
"It just so happened to be Friday the 13th, which was bad luck for 42 people..." said Philadelphia Sheriff Jewel Williams during a news conference.
More than $187,000 in child support is owed by the people arrested, according to Williams.
The effort, which was a collective one, included Bucks, Chester and Delaware counties, Philadelphia Police Department, Bensalem Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police.
"We wanted to send a message out," said Williams "If you owe child support, pay it."
