A man who pleaded guilty to kicking a homeless man to death has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Twenty-six-year-old Teveya Brittingham of Lewes was sentenced Friday in Sussex County Court. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of 43-year-old Cornelius Henry, WBOC-TV reports.
Georgetown police officers called to the Dunbarton Apartments on Feb. 23, 2014, found Henry dead in the vestibule of one of the buildings.
Prosecutors say Henry's death was ruled a homicide and the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
Police say a blood trail led them to a nearby apartment, where Brittingham was found with blood on his pants and sneakers.
