Ex-Teacher Jailed for Having Sex With Student

A former suburban Philadelphia teacher charged with having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old youth has been sentenced to 11{ to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of corruption of minors.

A Montgomery County judge also ordered Nicole Jacques, 27, of Hatfield Township on Friday to spend three years on probation following her release, The (Doylestown) Intelligencer said.

Jacques had also been charged with numerous counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, and unlawful contact with a minor.

Township police said she met the youth while teaching at Calvary Baptist School in Lansdale and alleged that the relationship became sexual after she left her position in January 2011. Authorities said the yearlong relationship began the following month, and the two met at her apartment to have sex.

The teenager's father went to local police to report concerns due to a telephone bill that reflected an excessive number of phone calls and text messages between the two, authorities said in a criminal complaint.

Assistant District Attorney Matthew Quigg said the conviction means that Jacques will never again be allowed to teach.

"It was very important that she have a conviction on her record that would make it impossible for her to have a job around children again,'' he said.
