Teen's Body Found in Ashes of Apt. Fire

Investigators identify the 17-year-old victim

Investigators say the homicide victim in a Chester County apartment fire was a teenage boy.

A fire broke out at an apartment complex in North Coventry on Tuesday, shortly after 7 p.m. Investigators say it happened at the Hanover Garden Apartments on 212 East Schuylkill Road.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire. However, once the fire was controlled, they found a body in an upstairs apartment unit. Investigators identified the victim as Kevin Allen, 17, of Norristown, Pennsylvania. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police say they found spots of blood in the entryway to the apartment unit and blood smeared on the wall of the staircase. No arrests have been made.
