The prayers of four Philadelphia-area Catholic High Schools could be answered on Friday. Students and staff are all waiting on the decision from the Archdiocese on whether or not their schools will remain open next year.

While the Archdiocese made their decision on Philadelphia-area Catholic elementary schools last week, the decision was pushed back for Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast, West Catholic, St. Hubert’s and Conwell Egan. The delay came after donors made a large, last minute financial offer to keep the four high schools open.

In January the Archdiocese announced they would shut the four high schools down for enrollment and financial reasons. All of the high schools, except for West Catholic, appealed the decision.

The Archdiocese has scheduled a press conference for 3 p.m. Friday.

The press conference will be streamed live on the Archdiocesan website. You can also view the press conference on NBC Philadelphia NonStop.
