Adult Court for Accused Teen Killers?

Prosecutor wants to try Autumn Pasquale's alleged killers as adults.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office wants to try Autumn Pasquale’s alleged killers as adults.

The brothers, 17-year old Donte Robinson and 15-year old Justin Robinson, were charged last month with strangling Pasquale. The 12-year old Clayton, NJ girl vanished from her West High Street home October 20 after leaving on a bicycle.

Her body was found two days later in a recycling bin behind the teens’ house after the suspects’ mother called police to report a suspicious Facebook post on her son’s page.

“It is the State’s position, based upon the gravity of the juveniles actions in causing the death of Autumn Pasquale, that these cases should be heard in adult court,” said Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton.

The juvenile application waiver will be filed with Superior Court Judge Colleen A. Maier, who presides in the Gloucester County Family Division of the state court. It’s likely a hearing will be scheduled to determine if the waiver will be granted.

Right now, the accused killers are in a juvenile detention center.

They’re charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, illegally disposing of a body, tampering with evidence and theft. Justin Robinson is also is charged with luring the victim.

If convicted as adults, the pair would face at least 30 years in state prison without parole.
