A man was struck by a bullet fired by police in New Castle County, Delaware after he opened fire on officers during a routine traffic stop Thursday evening.
The shooting happened in the area of Vandever Ave. and Lamotte St. -- just blocks from a pro-police rally -- around 5 p.m.
Police say that the incident began as a routine traffic stop when the 25-year-old suspect opened fire. Officers fired back, hitting the man, officials said.
No officers were injured. The shooting victim was transported to Christiana Hospital in unknown condition.
