Two people are dead after a two-car crash in North Philadelphia Sunday night.

Police were called around 8:35 p.m. to the intersection of Broad Street and Allegheny Avenue.

Police say a car traveling eastbound on Allegheny Avenue went through a green light and was hit by another car that ran a red light.

The car that was hit then struck a light pole, according to police. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the car was transported to Temple University Hospital and was pronounced dead a few hours later.

The driver of the second car suffered minor injuries, according to police.
