Sears is taking “Christmas in July” a little too literally this summer. More than 372 Sears stores nationwide launched "Christmas Lane" décor sections as well as a section on their Web site and Kmart.com, owned by Sears Holding Corp., dedicated to good ol’ St. Nick.
Understandably, retailers have already been strategizing for the popular holiday season. But actually decorating for it seems a little speedy.
We are in the crux of our summer vacation, who wants to think about snow when we just got the sun?
With the recession dashing retailers' hopes of a successful holiday season, Sears jumped the gun—just a little—to start driving holiday sales now.
Normally, Sears doesn’t transform into a winter wonderland until November 1.
The store is only doing this temporarily. Although the Web site will stay up, Santa’s lane in stores will close July 25.
If you are looking to jump the gun or just love the Christmas spirit, head to Sears early this year for cheer and load up a sack of toys.
Hey, Santa starts early, why can’t you?
