Phily Native's Album Release

    Phily Native's Album Release
    Avi Wisnia

If the talented and subtle singer/songwriter Norah Jones had a baby with musician Ben Folds (best know for his sheer musical virtuosity), you’d get Avi Wisnia.

At least that's what fans and critics claim.

And musically, Wisnia could probably pass off as John Mayer’s long, lost brother. His voice, melody and talent remind many of the west coast 1950’s kind of jazz.

“Completely refreshing…lyrically brilliant,” says a music critic on his official Web site.

Well now, the Philly native who resides in New York is coming home for a night to perform at World Café Live and celebrate the release of his new album, "Something New."

The Friday, Apr. 9 performance will feature special guest appearances and a full band.

Fans say it’s Avi Wisnia’s live performance that really captures his musical virtuosity, his humor and his energy, according to his Web site.

Tickets for the event are $12 and reservations are recommended but not necessary and the show’s open to all ages.

And if you're still not convinced, check out his music page on Myspace -- for free.

Why not go "jazz" up your night up and enjoy some feel-good music?
