UPDATE: Police have identified the suspect. New details HERE.

The search is on for a driver after a rampage of hit-and-run crashes across North Philadelphia on Monday evening, one which killed a 22-year-old man at North Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue.

Roland Darrel White, from the East Germantown section of Philadelphia, was standing at the corner of Broad and Lehigh around 8:15 p.m. when he was struck and killed by a 2005 Ford Mustang driven by an unknown person, police said.

Witnesses described a violent scene.

"I've never seen nothing like that in my life," witness Clarence Summers told NBC10. "Can you imagine seeing a body flying through the air from Lehigh Avenue all the way to half way down the street? Terrible."

Upon responding to the scene, police say they found the blue Mustang -- unoccupied with a busted windshield and smashed front end -- near the intersection of Broad and Indiana Avenue, roughly a quarter of a mile from where White was killed.

Philadelphia Police say that before the hit-and-run killing, the driver of the Mustang was involved in two other hit-and-run incidents, both leaving victims injured.

The first happened in the parking lot of Rivers Casino on Delaware Avenue around 8 p.m., police say. The driver was behaving erratically near the casino when they struck a 51-year-old man on a grey electric scooter, knocking him to the pavement and shattering his leg. The victim is in stable condition at a Center City hospital, police say.

The driver of the Mustang continued the recklessness near the casino's valet area, according to police, striking three other vehicles, including a 2022 Toyota Camry driven by a 48-year-old female who suffered a minor injury.

After fleeing the scene on Delaware Avenue, the driver of the Mustang was later seen by witnesses weaving in-and-out of traffic at a high rate of speed along North Broad Street, where she struck a 53-year-old man on a bicycle near the intersection with Spring Garden Street. Police say that man is in stable condition at a local hospital as well.

The driver continued speeding and weaving through traffic on North Broad before hitting and killing White near Lehigh Avenue around 8:15 p.m., according to police. White was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 8:36 p.m.
