Police Video: Burglary 9200 Masland Street

The Philadelphia Police Department Northeast Detective Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the two suspects observed in the following surveillance video. On Monday April 23rd, 2012, at 6:15pm, two unknown males forced entry into a rear door of a residential property on the 9200 block of Masland Street in Northeast Philadelphia’s 7th Police District. The first suspect loiters at the front door of the residence for several minutes before he is joined by a second male. Both males then go to the rear of the property where the first suspect scales a privacy fence and forces entry into the property while the second suspect remains on the outside of the privacy fence and appears to act as a lookout. When the suspect forces the door open, he sets off the burglary alarm and the males fled without taking anything. It is believed that these males may be responsible for several other burglaries in the area. A white van is observed driving past the property on Masland Street several times just prior and during the burglary. Even though neither of the two suspects are observed exiting or entering the van it is believed that it may have been connected to the two suspects. Suspect #1 is observed talking on a cellular telephone continuously during the incident, indicating that at least a third person, possibly in the white van, is involved in the burglary. Suspect #2 is also observed approximately 1 1/2 hours prior to the burglary with a third male, apparently casing the property. The van is described as a white Chevrolet work type van with two rear windows and doors and also two side windows and doors on it’s right side. It appears to have a logo on both front doors and also writing and markings on both sides. Suspect Description: Suspect #1 Black male 20-27 years of age, medium build, light complexion, beard, wearing a dark knit hat, gray hooded sweatshirt with distinct white draw strings and a small light colored emblem on the chest, dark pants and black shoes. Suspect #2 Black male 20-27 years of age, thin build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and tan work boots. If you see these males do not approach him, contact 911 immediately.
