Police officers found two people dead Tuesday night inside a Clayton, Gloucester County, apartment.

Police in South Jersey discovered a man and woman dead inside a Gloucester County apartment Tuesday night in what they said appeared to be a murder-suicide.

Clayton police said officers responded to the Academy Arms Apartments along North Broad Street around 7 p.m. on May 7, 2024, for reports of a domestic incident and shots fired.

Police said responding officers discovered the bodies of Nina D. Sinclair-Green, 43, and Anthony J. Williams, 45.

Investigators said it was determined that both Williams and Sinclair-Green lived in the home together.

During the incident, Williams shot and killed Sinclair-Green inside the apartment while she was there trying to pack her belongings and move out.

After Sinclair-Green was shot, police said Williams discharged rounds from a semi-automatic handgun through the open front doorway, striking a vehicle in a parking lot occupied by Sinclair-Green's family members, who were there to help her pack.

Police said no one in the vehicle was injured. After discharging those rounds, Williams then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide while still inside the apartment.
