8/22-8/23: Clubs, Concerts and a Cure

Beer at the Ballpark:  Grab and guzzle either 1, 2, or 25 different beers this Saturday afternoon at McFadden's. Beerfest at the Ballpark celebrates the sampling and tasting of 25 craft breweries. Beers include Magic Hat, General Layfayette, Weyerbacher, Lancaster Brewing Co., Shmaltz Brewing Co., and more. As you sample the beer, there will be big screen TVs all around broadcasting the Phil's away game against the Mets. Chuckle at Chuckleball:  Whether you're a huge Phillies fan or not, everyone can laugh together tonight at Doc Watson'sChuckleball: Brotherly Glove. The show that pokes fun at all sports teams, members and fans by using some of your favorite songs as the base. The show this Saturday is sure bring tons of laughs as some of Philly's major highlights (and lowlights) will be put on blast. Hoots & Hellmouth:  Travel a bit out of the city this weekend for local folk rock band, Hoots & Hellmouth. The band started back in '05 and were winners of the Best College Record Label Album at the Independent Music Awards last year. They have a unique style that ranges from soul to folk to country with, of course, some good ol' fashion rock 'n' roll. Check them out this Saturday at The Note, 142 E. Market Street, West Chester, Pa. 19382, $12, 9:30 p.m. 
 
Luxury at Lotus:  This Saturday, party with your friends, models and photogs as you sip on the newest vodka, Belvedere IX. Rock for a Cure: Help benefit the American Cancer Society by attending the Rock Show for a Cure at Finnigans Wake this Sunday. There will be live entertainment, food, as well as an open bar. It'll only cost you $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Featured bands are Thomas Jonak, Mandi Perkins and Braxton Parker. Not only will you enjoy a great show, you'll also be helping raise money for cancer research, patient programs, advocacy and education for all types of cancer, that's accomplishing a lot for just a Sunday afternoon.Finnigans Wake, 547 N. 3rd Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19123, $20-25, 1-5 p.m.
