Justin Godynick is a meteorologist for NBC10 Philadelphia. You can watch him live on the 4pm and 6pm newscasts Wednesday through Friday, as well as weekend evenings.
Justin joined NBC10 in June of 2023. He came to Philadelphia from WBTS-TV, the NBC owned station in Boston, where he was a meteorologist for NBC10 Boston. Prior to that, he was a meteorologist for News 12 Network serving the New York metropolitan area. He has also been a meteorologist and traffic reporter for New York 1 and is a former professor of Meteorology/Communication at Kean University in New Jersey.
“I’m delighted to be able to work and forecast in the area I’ve spent most of my life,” said Justin. “Since I was three years old, I’ve had a true passion for weather and when delivering the forecast, I constantly fall back on the joy that weather brought me as a child.”
Justin loves forecasting Winter Storms. Growing up locally the Blizzard of 96’, February 03’ and Boxing Day Blizzard of 2010 are a few of his favorites.
Justin’s career began at News 12 New Jersey. He also spent some time at SNJ in Millville, New Jersey following the closure of NBC 40 in Northfield. He spent 12 years with News 12, and briefly worked at New York 1 in NYC as well during that time. He joined the NBC family in October of 2022 and worked at NBC Boston before coming to Philly.
Justin graduated with a Meteorology Degree from Rutgers in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Then went on to get a master’s from Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey.
When he is not on the news, Justin loves music and plays guitar, bass, and keyboards. In his free time, he enjoys riding motorcycles and spending time with his two daughters. He is also passionate about causes that deal with harder to cure cancers like pancreatic, and brain tumors. Attending charitable events to progress to a cure for these cancers is important to me.
