Christian Farr is an Emmy award winning reporter and fill-in anchor with NBC 5 News since 2009. For more than 25 years, Farr has worked as a broadcast news journalist throughout the country.
Farr first worked at CNBC on the nighttime talk show "Rivera Live," hosted by Geraldo Rivera. Farr’s first on-air job was at New Jersey's Regional News Network, a cable news operation. Less than a year later, Farr moved to Dayton, Ohio where he worked as a broadcast journalist at WHIO-TV. Farr landed his dream job at Fox 29 in Philadelphia, the fourth-largest TV market, as well as the market where he grew up.
For six years, Farr worked his way up the ladder - first as a general assignment reporter, then a morning anchor and host and finally a weekend anchor. In 2006, came to Chicago to work as a correspondent on WTTW's award-winning "Chicago Tonight." Farr also worked as a freelance correspondent for CNN’s Chicago bureau. Farr then joined NBC 5 and has since been nominated for multiple Emmy's, winning three.
Farr has also received numerous other journalism awards and several community service awards and commendations. Farr is a member of the Delta Alpha Boule fraternity.
Farr is married to ABC 7 news anchor and reporter Karen Jordan. Christian and Karen are the parents of two children, Vivian and John.
