Aunyea Lachelle is an Emmy Award-winning entertainment and lifestyle anchor for NBC10 Philadelphia’s Philly Live, which airs weekdays at 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., and weekends at 5:30 a.m.
"Growing up in this city shaped me in ways I’m still discovering. I don’t just see people and businesses as potential stories to tell—I see them as important members of our community who deserved to be celebrated. I feel them and see them because I am them" said Aunyea.
Since joining NBC10 in July 2019, Aunyea has built a reputation for uncovering the hidden gems of the Philadelphia region. Her segments spotlight everything from the city’s vibrant arts scene and must-try food spots to meaningful community initiatives and inspiring local leaders. She is also known for bringing the stars down to earth, creating warm, engaging moments with Hollywood legends like Robert De Niro, Adam Sandler, Samuel L. Jackson, Tyler Perry, Taraji P. Henson—the list goes on.
During the pandemic, Aunyea helped amplify the voices of small business owners and nonprofit organizations making a difference.
Before NBC10, she worked as a Community Affairs Coordinator, Programming Producer, and Digital Reporter at 6abc-WPVI. A native of Northeast Philadelphia, Aunyea earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from West Chester University. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and is passionate about women’s rights, equality, and access to education.
When she’s not hosting, Aunyea enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful children, keeping up with the latest in pop culture, attending concerts and musicals, and checking out all that our city has to offer.
