When Marco Polo traveled the world in the 13th century, it was not as far as crowded as today.

If you like traveling make sure to attend “In the Footsteps of Marco Polo” at the Geographical Society of Philadelphia on Logan Square near 19th Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway. It starts  Wednesday, September 30th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 or $7.50 for students.

Two fearless adventurers, Denis Belliveau and Francis O’Donnell, will show you their photos of a two year and 33,000 miles trip along with a Central Asian buffet to get the evening started.

The duo traveled along Marco Polo’s route through a lot of countries in Central Asia -- in the 13th century the Italian merchant introduced countries like Turkey, Tibet, Sumatra and Afghanistan to the European society.

The whole evening will be packed with photos and stories from their path in Asia -- but you shouldn’t be hungry during the presentation.

Taste food from all the countries that Belliveau and O’Donnel visited, when the Marco Polo Buffet is waiting for you at 6:00pm. Try Indian samosas, meatless moussaka or Mongolian beef stir-fry – it’s $28 and also includes wine.

For more information about the event and to make reservations for the Marco Polo Buffet, call (610) 649-5220.
