Jazz & Arts Fest: Start the weekend early today because the 7th Annual West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival takes over Chestnut Hill all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Move and groove with local jazz fans as you shop, eat, see plenty of hand-crafted art and hear over 40 bands performing on two stages. Be sure to jump into Philly’s own Mardi Gras parade, fixed with traditional New Orleans music and cuisine. The non-stop festival will also include free shuttles for all partygoers coming into the city. West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival, 7100 Ogontz Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. 19138, Free, 9 a.m.
After-Work Drinks: It’s Friday so get the party started at P.Y.T. in No Libs. The local burger joint offers half-priced drinks and beers from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Of course beer is better with a burger so try one of their delicious burgers or heartier bogus burgers. Must-have sides include hand-cut french fries, chili cheese fries or “probably the best onion rings you’ve ever had.” P.Y.T., 1050 North Hancock Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19123, 5 p.m.
The Machine: Well-known Pink Floyd cover band, The Machine, are back to sing your favorite songs. As a special 30th anniversary tribute to The Wall, The Machine will not only perform all of Pink Floyd’s hits, but there will also be an amazing sound and light show. How much more psychedelic can you get? Keswick Theatre, 291 Keswick Avenue, Glenside, Pa. 19038, $32, 8 p.m.
