Officials Investigate Reported Sex Assault at Rowan University Residence Hall

Rowan University in New Jersey is warning students who drink alcohol and other beverages at parties to "keep control" of their drinks after officials say a student reported she was sexually assaulted at a residence hall.

The Courier-Post in Cherry Hill reports the Glassboro university says the student told police she left an off-campus party early Friday and that a college-aged male offered to walk her to her residence hall.

The university says the woman had been drinking at the party and last remembers waking up to the man sexually assaulting her in a room in Holly Pointe Commons.

Further details weren't immediately known. An investigation is ongoing.

The university is urging students to have a companion or a safe way of getting home.
