Delaware Police Arrest Suspect in String of Robberies

Dover police have arrested a suspect in a string of armed robberies over the span of three weeks.

Police say 43-year-old Morris Simms has been charged with robbery, possession of a deadly weapon, strangulation, assault and resisting arrest among several other charges.

Police say Simms is linked to six armed robberies in the Dover area since Dec. 3. Police say Simms was arrested on Friday after he walked into a check-cashing business on College Road in a disguise and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the registers there. Police responded to the scene, and discovered Simms in a nearby wooded area where he was placed under arrest.

Police say Simms is being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $656,000 cash bond.
