Will Smith is not taking the latest rumors that he's splitting from Jada Pinkett Smith lightly.
The actor, who normally stays quiet when these types of stories surface, took to Facebook Monday to clear the air once and for all about the status of his (happy) marriage to the "Magic Mike XXL" actress.
"Under normal circumstances, I don't usually respond to foolishness. (Because it's contagious) But, so many people have extended me their 'deepest condolences' that I figured, What the hell...I can be foolish, too!"
Will continued, "So, in the interest of redundant, repetitious, over & over-again-ness...Jada and I are...NOT GETTING A DIVORCE!!!!!!!!!!!! I promise you all--ifI ever decide to divorce my Queen--I SWEAR I'll tell you myself. Dumb people should have to wear scarlet D's."
Immediately after, Jada posted the following terse message on Twitter: "My king has spoken." Fair enough.
Jada also spoke out about the ongoing speculation of turmoil in her 15-year marriage in her latest interview with American Way magazine.
"Every year there's a new one. And I'm like, 'Here we go. Get ready. Are ya holdin' on tight?'"
She added, "Marriages go through shifts. And relationships go through shifts because in life, things shift. So people are automatically like, 'What's going on? They must be getting a divorce.' Well, no. But when people feel those shifts and there's a mystery, they have to fill it with something."
Of course, this isn't the first time that the 43-year-old has gotten candid about her highly publicized marriage.
She dished some sage advice on Facebook earlier this month, when asked to share some tips on how to keep a long-lasting marriage alive.
"A message to a friend: A wise man shared with me yesterday one word responsible for his 24 years of marriage. You know what that word was...forgiveness. Happy Sunday:) J," she wrote.
Editor's note: An earlier version of this story mistakenly attributed a tweet by Jada to Jaden.
