After his 3rd straight loss, Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay gets asked about the team’s run support (or lack of it). Halladay says for him, it’s not about the scoring. He talks about focus and his mindset leading up to game.
Roy Halladay (8-6) lost his third straight start and Carl Pavano won his third straight start as the Twins beat the Phillies 4-1 Sunday afternoon.
In the first inning, Halladay ran into some trouble in when Joe Mauer singled to center field and Orlando Hudson scored to put the Twins ahead 1-0.
In the top of the fiffh, left fielder Denard Span hit a solo home run to right field and the Phils answered in the bottom of the inning when Wilson Valdez hit a solo home run to left field.
The Twins struck back in the sixth when right fielder Jason Kubel singled to right field which scored first baseman Justin Morneau.
In the eighth, Morneau's solo homer put the Twins up 4-1.
Halladay's record drops to 8-6 after allowing a season-high 11 hits. He had four earned runs, eight strikeouts and no walks. The Phillies have one day off before playing the Cleveland Indians here at home.
