Manatee Picks Denver Broncos to Beat the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII

Who's going to win Super Bowl XLVIII? This Florida manatee just might have the winning pick.

Who's going to win Super Bowl XLVIII? This Florida manatee just might have the winning pick.

Buffett, a resident manatee in the aquarium at the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, has picked the Denver Broncos to beat the Seattle Seahawks in Sunday's big game.

And Buffett's prognostication shouldn't be ignored: He's predicted the correct Super Bowl winner for the last six years.

"It's pretty incredible that Buffett is now six for six," Manatee Research Supervisor Kat Nicolaisen said. "We don't know how he does it. The choice is totally up to him."

The pick, which the manatee makes by swimming to his team of choice's photo on his tank, has also divided Buffett's manatee family. His half-brother, Hugh, chose the Seahawks to win the game. Hugh has chosen correctly in four out of the last six Super Bowls.

Hugh and Buffett were born at the Miami Seaquarium and brought to the Mote Marine Laboratory in 1996.

The sea cows, touted as the world's most extensively trained manatees, are on display at the aquarium daily.
