Flyers Fans, Alumni to Gather for Ed Snider Memorial Celebration

NBC10’s John Clark reports on the ceremony honoring the life of the Philadelphia Flyers’ owner Ed Snider.

The Philadelphia Flyers invited fans to the Wells Fargo Center Thursday afternoon to join players and alumni for a tribute to chairman and founder Ed Snider.

“A Celebration of Ed’s Life” is free and open to the public. The Flyers will open the Wells Fargo Center – a building Mr. Snider helped build – at 11:30 a.m. with the ceremony to begin at 1 p.m. Thursday.

“Father of the Philadelphia Flyers hockey club, family man, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mr. Snider was a true visionary in the sports and entertainment industry, and a towering figure in the City of Philadelphia for more than 50 years,” said a post on the Flyers website. [[375272191, C]]
