Carson Wentz knows a thing or two about guns. He was hunting when he learned that Sam Bradford had been traded to Minnesota and he reportedly spent the holidays hunting with Mike Trout.
And many backfield players to give gifts to their offensive linemen at holidays season, like Ezekiel Elliott getting the Cowboys' O-line Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs) or Trevor Siemian buying Skittles-dispensing jackets for his guys. So it isn't all that surprising that Wentz would gift his linemen with personalized shotguns for Christmas.
Wentz reportedly hasn't given his teammates the gifts yet as the guns are being finalized, but each apparently has the lineman's number on it.
Allen Barbre told ESPN that the gift "is an awesome gun" and that he is "excited about it." [[139836153, C]]
"I haven't really held a gun or anything before," rookie Isaac Seumalo told ESPN. "But I'm more than thankful for it. It looks sweet. Carson said he'd teach me how to use it and all that good stuff."
In response to the gift, gun violence advocacy group CeaseFirePA announced that they would be sending gun locks to each of the Eagles linemen to ensure the guns can be locked up safely.
Meanwhile, Trout has ingratiated himself with the Eagles in his own way, albeit not by buying guns. The Angels star outfielder gave Nike shoes to every player on the team, according to Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
