Two Italian men threatened to self-immolate on Tuesday in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican City in protest of Italy’s economic slowdown, Reuters reported. The two men, who held plastic bottles and lighters, are part of a group that says Italy’s political elite are pampered and out of touch. Police and firefighters cordoned the protesters off from a crowd of spectators before taking them into custody.
