Two weeks after bringing at least a thousand people to the Statehouse for a rally to call for the removal of the Confederate flag, the same group is coming back to the capitol.

The second "Take the Flag Down SC" rally is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Saturday. Organizers say they want to show South Carolina is united behind American on Independence Day.

The first rally was held two weeks ago, before Gov. Nikki Haley called for the Confederate flag to be removed from a pole by a monument to Confederate soldiers. The flag was moved there from the Statehouse dome as part of a 2000 compromise.

Lawmakers are set to begin debating the flag's future Monday.
