Girls Beat Woman, Post Video on Facebook: Cops

The family of the teenage girls accused of beating a 48-year-old woman in Chester were at court Friday for their arraignment. A judge decided that the proceedings will be closed to the public.

A group of girls beat up a woman in Delaware County, videotaped it and posted the attack on Facebook, according to Chester police.

In the video from the Delco Times, you see a group of six girls approach the woman, who was out on her stoop. Police say the attack happened near 12th and Morton Tuesday around 9 p.m. in Chester, Pa. They also say all of the suspects are between 16 and 17 years of age.

One of the attackers starts punching the 48-year-old woman who also has a mental disability. The attack then moves inside the home.

The victim suffered  cuts and bruises on her face but did not get medical help, according to police.

A local parent saw the video on Facebook Thursday morning and tipped off police.

Police say they tracked down four of the teenage girls in the video and they are currently in jail. They are scheduled for an arraignment Friday morning between 8 and 9 a.m. Investigators say they're searching for two more girls who they believe were involved. All of the girls will be charged as an adult.
