Federal judge dismisses Veterans Affairs discrimination case

A federal judge is denying a motion by the U.S. goverment to dismiss a discrimination case against the Department of Veterans Affairs. The case involves Conley Monk, Jr., a Connecticut resident and a Black veteran. With the help of Yale University law students, Monk sued, alleging racial discrimination since World War II, involving VA benefits. NBC10 News and a group of owned NBC stations have been investigating alleged systemic discrimination against Black vets as part of an ongoing series. The decision allows Monk’s lawsuit to move forward.
