Fans Watching ‘Captain Marvel' at NJ Theater Get Marvelous Surprise

Captain Marvel released this video on Instagram of Brie Larson making a surprise visit to a New Jersey movie theater on opening weekend.

Fans who went to see "Captain Marvel" at a New Jersey movie theater expected to see Brie Larson on the movie screen, not behind the counter.

But the blockbuster star surprised fans at the AMC Clifton Commons on Saturday afternoon. She served popcorn while wearing a Captain Marvel-themed tracksuit.

One fan wrote that she was taking her little cousins to the movie when they saw Larson herself serving guests.

"She was kind enough to take time to speak with these young ladies and made this night one they won't forget," wrote @sweet_and_simple. "What an amazing experience."

The movie posted video of her appearance to Instagram. She walked to the front of one theater and addressed the crowd while holding a large cup of soda.

"I just heard that I was on the cups and popcorn and I wanted to come and see for myself," she said before thanking fans.

The movie raked in $153 million domestically and $455 million globally on its opening weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, making it one of the biggest blockbusters ever led by a woman.
