Crack-Smoking Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Signs Bobbleheads of Himself

The surprise holiday gift of the season is shaping up to be signed Mayor Rob Ford bobbleheads, being sold for $20 a piece. The Mayor of Toronto came under fire recently when police obtained a video of him smoking crack cocaine.

Hundreds of people are snatching up bobblehead dolls of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, signed by the embattled politician himself.

Hundreds of people lined up at Toronto City Hall Tuesday to buy the “Robbie Bobbie” dolls for $20 each, with the proceeds going to charity.

The line included both supporters and opponents of the mayor -- some coming from out of town.

Ford, mayor of Canada's largest city, admitted to smoking crack during one of his "drunken stupors," and has acknowledged being "hammered" drunk in public. Ford declined Tuesday to say what action he is taking to address his problems.

"Talk is cheap. Actions speak louder than words," he said.

Police said they obtained the video of Ford smoking crack in the course of a drug investigation into Ford's friend and occasional driver, Alexander Lisi.

The 90-second video was brought to a courtroom Tuesday by a police officer on a password-protected, encrypted drive but was not shown in court. The police have said they have seized two videos, but the prosecution said Tuesday that one is a subset of the other.

Ford showed up himself and spent five hours signing nearly 1,000 of the bobble head dolls and greeting supporters on Thursday.

Ford vowed to continue on as mayor.

"I have saved more money than any other mayor in Toronto's history and that's what I'm going to continue to do tomorrow," Ford said when asked why he should remain on the job.
