Workers Hurt in Ocean Co. Roof Collapse

Five workers were injured.

Five workers were injured Wednesday morning in a construction accident in Ocean County. Strong winds and rain may have caused the incident which lead a future convenient store to come crashing down.

Five workers were injured Wednesday when the roof collapsed on convenience store under construction in Berkeley Township, Ocean County. 

The accident happened around 9:30 in the morning during stormy weather.

The workers were building a Quik Chek store on Route 9 at Butler Boulevard.

The injuries range from broken bones to bumps and bruises.

OSHA is investigating.  Police said they believe high winds were a factor in the collapse.
