Philadelphia police were investigating what they called an “unusual” killing after a 50-year-old woman was found naked and stabbed to death inside her Hunting Park home. NBC10’s Miguel Martinez-Valle reports.

An investigation is underway after a woman was found naked and stabbed to death in Philadelphia’s Hunting Park neighborhood on Thursday.

The 50-year-old woman was found on the first floor inside a home along the 3900 block of North 5th Street suffering from multiple stab wounds, the Philadelphia Police Department said. She was pronounced dead at 3:41 p.m.

Family members told NBC10 that the victim was Nancy Roman. They described her as loving and full of life, and they too were puzzled by the crime.

Scott Small, the PPD's chief inspector, called the killing "very unusual" because the woman had several stab wounds, including a "large, gaping wound in her chest."

No weapons were recovered and no arrests have been made.
