Woman Sexually Assaulted, Found on Road: Cops

Police say the victim knew the man who sexually assaulted her.

Police are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a middle-aged Gloucester County woman. Officers say they found the victim shivering on the side of a road in Williamstown on Tuesday night. NBC10’s Cydney Long reports the details.

Police are on the hunt for a man who they say sexually assaulted a woman in Williamstown, Gloucester County.

The victim, a woman in her 40’s, was found along the 3000 block of Jackson Road near Piney Hollow around 6:30 p.m. by a Good Samaritan. Responding patrol officers secured the scene and the woman was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation before being released.

While police have not yet revealed many details as far as what happened, they do say the woman knows the man who sexually assaulted her. Residents who live near where the alleged assault happened are on edge.

“It’s scary,” said Karen Cotton of Williamstown. “I have two young daughters. When they get off the school bus I try to be home for them every day.”

“I just want to know what happened,” said another resident.
