Suspect Refuses to Leave Home, Barricade Situation in Montgomery County

A SWAT team was called to a Willow Grove residential street early Thursday morning when a person refused to leave his home after police served him with a warrant.

A man barricaded himself inside his Montgomery County home early Thursday morning after authorities tried to serve him with a warrant.

The suspect, Thomas Scherillo, 58, was inside his home along the 200 block of Quigley Avenue near Nash Avenue in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania around 3 a.m. when police arrived to serve him with several felony arrest warrants.

The suspect was initially considered armed and dangerous, but negotiators were eventually able to establish contact.

Scherillo surrendered himself to SWAT officers without conflict.

Officers from the Upper Moreland Police Department served felony arrest warrants for burglary, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, bail jumping and other related charges, which were filed against him in Freestone County, Texas.
