DUI Driver Rear Ends Officer's Vehicle: Philadelphia Police

A Philadelphia Police Officer was treated for minor injuries after a car smashed into the back of his patrol SUV at a West Philadelphia intersection.

A Philadelphia Police officer sitting in his parked sport utility vehicle ended up in the hospital after being rear-ended by a suspected intoxicated driver.

The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at 52nd and Market streets in West Philadelphia.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his back, neck and knee, said Philadelphia Police.

The 39-year-old woman behind the wheel of the sedan was treated for cuts to her face. Officers arrested the her on suspicion of DUI.

The crash left damage to the back of the officer’s SUV and front-end damage to the suspect’s sedan.
