Villanova Student Killed, 4 Injured in Mexico Car Accident

A Villanova University sophomore was killed and four other students were injured after they were involved in a car accident while on spring break in Mexico Thursday, according to a school official.

Williams Zimmerman of Far Hills, NJ, who died from his injuries, was a student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, according to Rev. John P. Stack, Vice President for Student Life.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone touched by this tragedy, Stack wrote in an email to the student body. “Please keep our students and their families in your prayers, especially the Zimmermann family.”

Four other students sustained injuries in the accident, but they were not-life threatening, according to Stack.

No further details about the accident have been released at this time.
