Underground Electrical Fire Causes Power Outage in Old City

Over half of the 700 power outages have been restored following the underground electrical fire on Arch Street Tuesday night.

An underground electrical fire caused power outages for hundreds of Old City residents Tuesday night.

The underground fire started along the 100 block of Arch Street. One of the affected residents told NBC10 she lost power around 10:30 p.m.

At the height, PECO officials said around 700 people were without power.

SkyForce10 captured flames coming from a manhole on the street.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
