Armed Robber Holds Couple Hostage Inside Their Home: Police

A man was arrested after he allegedly held a Bucks County couple hostage at gunpoint and then tried to rob them.

A man was arrested after he allegedly held a Bucks County couple hostage at gunpoint inside their home during an attempted robbery.

Police say Jules Kahle, 25, of Collegeville, Pa. entered a home in the Pipersville section of Tinicum Township Saturday morning by using a hideaway key.

Kahle was hiding in the kitchen of the house when the homeowners came downstairs after having their morning coffee, police said. Kahle then confronted the couple, pulled out a gun and ordered them to give him money and food, according to police.

Kahle allegedly held the couple hostage for 20 minutes as they pleaded for him to take their money and food and leave the house.

Kahle then took cash, credit cards and food before fleeing the home, investigators said.

Police said one of the homeowners then took out his own gun and confronted Kahle in his driveway. Tinicum Police then responded to the home after receiving a report of an armed man. Once he saw the responding officers, Kahle dropped the gun and was taken into custody, investigators said.

Kahle was arraigned and committed to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 1 million dollars bail.
